Trading Instruments

Magic Compass offers a customer-centric platform for easy access to attractive trading opportunities. Our trading instruments include CFDs on Forex, Commodities and Indices. Tight spreads and high liquidity allow you to capitalize on even small price movements.

Spot Indices

Trading indices offers the opportunity to benefit from movements in the broader market without having to open positions in all or any of the underlying assets. Many traders prefer to do this, rather than trade a number of individual assets, as it is easier to stay in touch with the macro events that impact the whole market or a part of it, rather than keeping track of all the events impacting different assets. Magic Compass offers spot indices that allow you to trade the current spot value of some of the world’s leading indices, and without the additional foreign exchange exposure that comes with trading individual assets.

Indices Leverage Information

With leverage, it’s possible to place larger trades even with smaller funds in your account. It is important, however, to understand how leverage works. We offer a range of leverage choices, to be used depending on your experience and risk-taking capabilities. At account opening, the default leverage is set at 1:50, and the maximum leverage offered is assessed during the registration process, depending on your experience in trading spot indices.

For indices, Magic Compass uses a dynamic leverage model, which adjusts automatically to your trading positions. As the amount of your indices increases, the maximum leverage offered automatically decreases, according to the table below.

Symbol Open Lots Max Leverage
SP500 : S&P 500 Index
DJ30 : Dow Jones Industrial Average 30
NAS100 : NASDAQ-100
HK50 : Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Hang Seng Index)
JPN225 : Nikkei 225
GER30 : DAX
0-100 2 % thus 1:50 or (account leverage if smaller) Or (instrument leverage if set smaller)
100-200 5 % thus 1:20 or (account leverage if smaller) Or (instrument leverage if set smaller)
200+ 10 % thus 1:10 or (account leverage if smaller) Or (instrument leverage if set smaller)

Example 1

Client Account Leverage – 1:500

Let’s say, you have a USD account and you’ve placed 280 lots to buy (or sell) 280 Lots of #SP500 at 2500. In the Leverage Monitor table, your account leverage is higher than the relevant leverage offered to these instrument, so the margin required would be as below:

Lots Margin
Requirement
Applicable
Leverage
Margin Margin (USD)
0-100 2% (1:50) 2% (1:50) 100(Lots) *2500 (Opening Price) * 2%(margin req.) 5,000
100-200 5% (1:20) 5% ( 1:20) 100(Lots) *2500 (Opening Price) * 5%(margin req.) 12,500
100-200 5% (1:20) 5% ( 1:20) 100(Lots) *2500 (Opening Price) * 5%(margin req.) 12,500
Utilised Leverage is 1:10 Total Margin Required = 720,000 USD In EUR 849,600 (EURUSD@1.18)
